Al Downing went the distance and shortstop Tom Tresh blasted a homerun at
Sicks Stadium where the New York Yankees beat the Seattle Pilots by the score
of 6 to 5.

New York tallied 5 runs in the top of the 4th inning when they had 3 base
hits. The highlight belonged to Jimmie Hall who silenced Sicks Stadium as he
lost the ball over the fence for three runs (his 1st of the season). Seattle
had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

Downing(1-1) lasted until the end allowing 5 runs for the win. Marty
Pattin(3-3) was the losing pitcher. He allowed New York 6 runs in 3 and 2/3
innings of work.
