Catcher Mike Ryan blasted a homerun and had 4 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies
outscored the Cincinnati Reds in 10 innings 8 to 7.

The game was deadlocked at 7 after nine full innings. Philadelphia won the
game in the 10th inning. Larry Hisle cracked a solo homerun (his 7th of the
season) resulting in an exciting win for Philadelphia and a wild post-game
celebration by the home town fans. Despite losing, Cincinnati out-hit
Philadelphia 12 to 8.

Dick Farrell(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 2 innings. John
Noriega(0-1) was the loser in relief. Philadelphia now has a record of
14-14. Even with the loss, Cincinnati still has a nice 8-2 record in recent
weeks. They are 22-8 on the season.
