The New York Mets sent down to Triple A Nolan Ryan and Kevin Collins. To fill these spots Art Shamsky and Jack Dilauro were called up.

22 year old pitcher Ryan was 1-0 in 11 innings pitched, including one start, with a 0.00 ERA. He was sent down to get some more consistent work.


Collins, a 22 year old infielder in his 4th season was hitting .150 with 1 HR and 2 RBI in 43 plate appearances. He had started 11 games at 3B.















Shamsky, a 27 year old OF/1B, is starting his 5th season in the big leagues. He spent his first three years with the Reds. Last year he hit .238 with 12 homers and 48 RBI with New York.











DiLauro, a 26 year old rookie pitcher, was aquired from the Tigers in December. He will be making his major league debut.
