1969 Strat Replay

The Pittsburgh Pirates placed 25 year old lefty Jim Shellenback on the DL and called up 34 year old veteran righty Pedro Ramos.

Shellenback was 1-0 with a 1.62 ERA in 17 innings so far this year. He had been up for two brief cups of coffee in 1966 and 1967.











Ramos, from Pinar del Rio Cuba, is now in his 14th year in the big leagues. He started his career in 1955 with Washington and has also pitched in Minnesota, Cleveland, New York, and Philadelphia. He did not pitch in the majors at all last year.
