AL Transaction May 14th - Trade

The Chicago White Sox traded Sandy Alomar and Bob Priddy to theCalifornia Angels in exchange for Bobby Knoop.
Alomar , a 25 year old 2nd baseman in his 6th year, was hitting .233 with 2 RBI in 62 plate appearances. Angels manager Bill Rigney said he would take over the 2nd base slot and leadoff.
Priddy, a 29 year old reliever in his 7th year, was 0-0 with a 1.08 ERA in 8 innings for the White Sox. This will be his 5th team in 7 years. He will immediately be used in a set up role according to Rigney.
Knoop, a 30 year old 2nd basemen in his 6th year, was hitting .244 with 5 RBI in 84 plate appearances. This slick fielding infielder had spent his entire career with the Angels. White Sox skipper Don Gutteridge has Knoop taking over the everyday 2nd base job.
