Yankee Stadium where the New York Yankees beat the California Angels in 12

innings 4 to 3.

The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. New York was victorious

in the 12th inning. After two were out Horace Clarke delivered a base-hit.

Clarke got a great jump and stole second easily. Roy White then lashed a

single making New York the victor and beginning a joyous home town

celebration. Both teams totaled 7 on the night.

Fisher(0-2) was the loser in relief. New York now has a record of 19-16.

losing games' he said. 'It gets to be embarrassing after a while.'

In a two run game the blistering-hot Baltimore Orioles registered 6 runs in

the 6th inning and got by the Kansas City Royals by the score of 6 to

4.

Baltimore came up with all the runs they needed in the 6th inning when they

scored 6 runs on 5 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Dave

Johnson who silenced the stadium when he doubled clearing the bases. Kansas

City threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Jim Hardin(2-2) allowed 4 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the

victory. Hardin got help from Eddie Watt who earned his 2nd save. Roger

Nelson(1-5) suffered the loss.

Joe Gordon was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our

guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won that one.

That is what really ticks me off!'

Danny Cater's run scoring double in the 11th inning gave Oakland a 5-4 win over Cleveland.
